This year our School Association is running a raffle to raise funds towards new school playground equipment.
One lucky person will win a $4000 MTA family travel voucher and the raffle book sellers will go into a bonus draw to win a $500 MTA family travel voucher.
The winners of the $4000 main prize and the $500 book seller prize will each have a free travel consultation with local MTA agent (and parent) Gina Edwards and enjoy travel of their choice booked through MTA.
- Tickets are $5 each and are available in books of 10. Buy them yourself or sell to family, friends and workmates.
- Buy a ticket or pick up a book of tickets at the school office. Tickets also on sale at Okines Community House, IGA and other local shops.
- Return your raffle books and money, including any unsold tickets, before 3pm Thursday 18th October.
- Pay by cash, cheque to DFPS P&F or bank transfer (BSB 067007 Account 28003420 & quote ticket numbers).
- Winners will be drawn on Friday 19th October (extended from 21st Sept) at the school, 538 Old Forcett Road, Dodges Ferry, Tasmania.
How would I use the travel voucher?
The MTA travel voucher is an open order for travel of your choice booked through MTA. You can use the voucher to book for yourself, family and/or friends to travel in Tasmania, interstate or overseas. The travel could include flights, accommodation, entry fees or other travel services booked through MTA - it’s your choice. The voucher will be valid for 12 months.

Who is Gina Edwards?
Parent and former P&F Treasurer, Gina Edwards, is an experienced MTA travel expert. Gina is giving her time to promote the raffle, donating her commission from travel bookings and providing a free travel consultation to help the raffle winners plan and book their travel of choice.
Is this raffle legal?
The 2012 travel raffle is organised by the Dodges Ferry Primary School Association Inc, a not-for-profit volunteer organisation authorised to run activities that benefit the school. The 2012 travel raffle meets state government gaming regulations and is exempt from a minor gaming permit Gaming Control Act 1993 Notice under section 3, sub-section 8A because the total prize pool does not exceed $5000. Formal approval was given to extend the draw date from 21st September to 19th October 2012.
Why a travel raffle?
The School Association invited Gina to help organise the raffle after seeing similar raffles offered by professional fundraising companies. A travel raffle is attractive to a broad range of people and can be widely promoted beyond the usual school community, spreading the fundraising load.
Who can enter the $500 bonus draw?
The 11th ticket in every book is a free ticket for the book seller to enter the separate draw for a $500 travel voucher. The three raffle organisers are excluded from bonus draw.
