Our wetlands

Our school environment is greatly enhanced by the natural and cultural heritage that surround the school, particularly the wetlands and foreshore along Okines Beach.

The wetlands are fed by a natural spring that first drew Aboriginals and later European settlers to the area and where Ralph Dodge established Lagoon Farm in 1864, including the land on which the school now stands.

National Habitat Project – Wetlands 2000
